LEXINGTON, KY — The DiverCity Festival Board announces that the 2026 DiverCity Festival scheduled for May 23rd, 2026 has been postponed due to inclement weather conditions. After careful consideration and with the safety and well-being of our community as the foremost priority, a new event date has been established: Saturday, August 29, 2026.
We understand that this change may require adjustments in your schedule, and we deeply appreciate your patience and continued support. The decision to postpone was not made lightly. Safety remains our highest priority, followed closely by ensuring that every member of our community has the opportunity to enjoy this important and joyful event in the way it was intended.
With the forecast indicating a significant amount of rainfall and thunderstorms this weekend, we felt it was our responsibility to act on the information available to us and make a decision that reflects our values as a community institution. While we know that weather is never fully predictable, and August brings its own uncertainties, we commit to continuing to make the most informed decisions possible as we move forward.
We are genuinely excited about what lies ahead. The additional time allows us to further develop our programming, enhance promotional outreach, and welcome an even larger audience to the DiverCity Festival on August 29. This event celebrates the rich cultural fabric of our region, and we want every voice, every performer, and every attendee to experience it at its very best.
“Safety first. Community always. DiverCity Festival — August 29.”
We sincerely hope you will continue to be a part of this experience. Your presence, partnership, and enthusiasm make DiverCity the meaningful celebration it is. We look forward to seeing you on August 29 with more energy, more community, and more to celebrate than ever before.
